金刚萨埵
(金剛薩埵, 金刚萨埵)
Vajrasattva(-mahāsattva). [lang id =1028]金薩 A form of Puxian (Samantabhadra), reckoned as the second of the eight patriarchs of the [lang id =1028]真言宗 Shingon sect, also known as [lang id =1028]金剛手 ([lang id =1028]金剛手祕密王 or[lang id =1028]金剛手菩薩) and other similar titles. The term is also applied to all (sa) vajra-beings, or (sa) vajra-bodhisattvas; especially those in the moon-circle in the east of the Diamond (sa) maṇḍala. Śākyamuni also takes the (sa) vajrasattva form.
(1) All beings are (sa) vajrasattva, because of their Buddha-nature.
(2) So are all beginners in the faith and practice.
(3) So are the retinue of Akṣobhya.
(4) So is Great Puxian.
